HLE-2300 Integrated Health and Physical Education Credits 3 This course focuses on aspects of health and physical education that are critical to personal wellness and professional practice. Course topics include the following: health information, physical activity, self-assessment, action planning, and disease prevention all with application to the learning environment. This course meets the outcomes required for the degree of Associate of Arts in Teaching. Course Outcomes
- Identify wellness concepts and how they impact lifestyles
- Compare and contrast health information and products, taking into account influence of culture, media and technology.
- Develop a health action plan including the health related components of fitness, nutrition and stress management
- Apply strategies for resolving conflicts and developing and maintaining positive interpersonal relationships
- Assess safety and environmental factors that promote individual and community health
