MUS-1230 Class Voice


Credits 1
This course teaches students the rudiments of singing techniques and the process of learning new pieces. Techniques covered include proper posture, breathing, resonance, vowel formation and diction. In this course, students develop proper performance practices and stagecraft techniques by performing newly-learned songs in different languages from various time periods.

Required of all instrumental students.
2 lab hours.
Course Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate basic singing techniques that include proper posture, breathing, resonance, vowel formation and diction.
  2. Perform vocal music in different styles and languages.
  3. Express the emotions found in solo song literature suitable for the beginning singer.
  4. Perform songs in a solo setting with proper stagecraft.
