Clinical experience courses provide the opportunity for students to observe, practice and perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, as well as participate in a quality assurance program. Clinical courses are directed, competency-based experiences in affiliate health care facilities; licensed and registered technologists (or pharmacists) provide guidance, mentorship and critiques.

This course is the fifth and final clinical education course. The student will demonstrate preparedness for national certification exams and readiness to enter the workforce as a nuclear medicine professional by independently performing all nuclear medicine imaging procedures (routine and non-routine) and formulating strategies for obtaining diagnostic images in special patient populations. Additionally, the student will perform radiopharmaceutical preparation and quality control and demonstrate an appropriate response in unexpected and emergency situations.

Course Outcomes
