MUS-1015 Guitar Class

This course provides guitar instruction for beginners on elements such as music reading, scales, chords, repertory. Students explore the basics of playing the guitar such as proper hand position and strum techniques. Students use sheet music/tablature to play scales and songs in this course.
Prerequisite(s): None
Note: Required of all commerical music students
Course Outcomes

Perform while reading standard guitar notation, written in treble clef.
Demonstrate proper hand/finger technique while playing patterns in major key and chord progressions.
Play elementary level guitar pieces accurately.
