BLD-2220 NCCER Plumbing Level 2 Credits 7 This course provides the second level of training of the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) plumbing curriculum. Students gain an understanding of the geometrical principles that govern plumbing installations. They acquire the skills and knowledge needed to install and test water distribution and drain-waste-vent systems, fixtures and valves, and fuel gas systems. They learn how to prepare commercial takeoffs and install piping penetrations according to building code. Successful completion of the course earns students the NCCER Plumbing Level 2 credential. This course is currently not cross-listed with Continuing Education. Prerequisite(s): BLD-2210 Course Outcomes
- Apply geometrical principles to perform plumbing installations such as square corners and offsets.
- Use commercial drawings to prepare material takeoffs, lay out plumbing systems, and establish fixture locations.
- Perform piping penetrations through structural members according to code.
- Install plumbing systems such as drain-waste-vent systems, water distribution systems, and roof, floor and area drains.
- Test plumbing systems such as drain-waste-vent systems and water distribution systems.
- Install fixtures and valves.
