FOS-2580 Basic Accident Investigation



Credits: 3
A survey of the principles and techniques involved in crash investigation. Emphasis is on the recognition, interpretation, documentation and collection of evidence, including skid, yaw, roadway and vehicle marks and damages.

Prerequisite(s): FOS-2500 .

Course Outcomes
  1. Discuss the procedures for crash investigations.
  2. Analyze the human, environmental and mechanical factors involved in accidents.
  3. Explain the documentation, collection and preservation of physical evidence from an accident scene.
  4. Analyze legal issues related to accident investigation, and the preparation and procedures for testifying in court as an expert witness.
