INT-2480 Network Automation
Credits: 3 In this course, students learn the basics of software development, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), fundamentals of networking, application deployment, infrastructure, and automation using Cisco platforms. They utilize Linux and Python programming skills to parse different messaging and data formats and implement a development environment using Developer Network (DevNet) resources. Students learn software development and design best practices for network automation, enabling them to create REST API requests over HTTPS to securely integrate services. Furthermore, they learn to deploy secure applications and data in a cloud environment and compare software testing and deployment methods in automation and simulation environments. Students who complete this course are prepared for entry-level jobs in Network Programming and Automation. The content in this course provides students with the foundational knowledge and skills to prepare for Cisco Certified DevNet Associate Certification (DEVASC). However, adequate preparation for the DEVASC exam will require additional independent study.
Prerequisite(s): INT-1450 and INT-1700 and INT-2240
