Computer-Aided Drafting Certificate

Program Description

The Computer-Aided Drafting certificate program provides students with the background required to obtain entry-level employment in the computer-aided drafting (CAD) field. Students learn to create complex mechanical and architectural drawings. Students become proficient using industry-standard CAD software to create two-dimensional drawings and three-dimensional models.

Program Outcomes

Graduates of the Computer-Aided Drafting Certificate will be able to:

• Use AutoCAD software to create and edit complex two-dimensional drawings.
• Use appropriate CAD software to create three-dimensional models.
• Produce a complete set of working drawings for a complex mechanical part or building.

Sequence of Study

Below are the required courses for your program arranged in a suggested sequence. Please note that the sequence does not include the English co-requisite course (EGL-0100S ) or any co-requisite MAT courses (MAT-0113C , MAT-0114C , MAT-0125C  and MAT-0135C  ). Required Courses (in expected order)

• INT-1010 Introduction to Information Technology Credits: 3 (Program Requirement)
• ENT-1600 Introduction to CAD with AutoCAD Credits: 3 (Program Requirement; Critical Course)
• ENT-1680 Revit Architecture and BIM Credits: 3 (Program Requirement; Critical Course)

• Choose any two of the following program electives:

• ART-1570 Introduction to Computer Graphics Credits: 3 (Program Elective) or
• ART-2670 3-D Digital Modeling and Animation Credits: 3 (Program Elective) or
• CSM-1830 Construction Blueprint Reading Credits: 3 (Program Elective)
