PMD-2030 Shock and Trauma 4 Credits This course provides an in-depth study of trauma, victim rescue theory and skills, and pathophysiology of shock. Includes the study of fluid and electrolyte balance and acute changes in body fluid space. Assessment and treatment of various types of shock and trauma for both the adult and pediatric patient suffering head and facial, spinal, thoracic, abdominal, and musculoskeletal trauma. Prerequisite(s): PMD-1000 , PMD-1010 , PMD-1020 , and PMD-1050 . Corequisite(s): PMD-1030 , PMD-2010 , and PMD-1100 . 3 class/3 lab hours. Note: All courses incorporate Statewide Protocols for Paramedic as applicable.
