BIO-2330 Fundamentals of Soil Science 4 Credits A lecture/laboratory course introducing the study and management of soils as ecosystem components and media for the growth of plants and other organisms. Includes soil morphology, composition, formation, and conservation; emphasizes the physical, chemical, and biological properties of soils as they relate to plant biology, nutrient cycles, the hydrologic cycle, engineering uses of soils, and environmental quality issues. Prerequisite(s): BIO-1130 , BIO-1140 , CHM-1010 , and MAT-0104 with grades of C or higher. 3 lecture/3 lab hours per week.
