EGR-2300 Materials Science for Engineers and Scientists 3 Credits Introduces the foundations of the chemistry and physics of materials used in engineering applications. Develops the relationship between the atomic and molecular structure of materials and the macroscopic properties and performance of engineering material. In particular, includes thorough discussion of the chemical and physical properties of metals, ceramics, polymers, semiconductors, superconductors, and nanomaterials. Prerequisite(s): EGR-1010 and CHM-1020 or CHM-2000 . Note: A grade of C or higher is required for any course used to satisfy a prerequisite for any other course. (Offered spring only.)
