HIM-2511 Healthcare Quality Improvement and Data Analysis 3 Credits A study of the basic knowledge of the principles of quality assessment and improvement. Study provides a basis for developing skills in collecting and analyzing data. Topics include health care evaluation systems as well as the role of medical record professionals in quality assessment and improvement, clinical critical pathways and case management, utilization management, risk. Students will also be introduced to a study of database theory, analysis, and design. Prerequisite(s): HIM-1600 with a grade of C or higher; HIM-2600 and HIM-2520 concurrent. (Offered fall only.)
