MAT-1160 Elements of Probability and Statistics 4 Credits Part of the three-course sequence for students preparing to teach at the elementary or middle school level. Topics include organizing, summarizing, presenting, and interpreting data, sampling, counting techniques, basic probability concepts and distributions, simulation, expectations, and introduction to statistical inference. Concrete methods will be explored. Math general education class. Prerequisite(s): MAT-1050 with a grade of C or higher. Note: All mathematics courses require extensive use of a computer and/or a graphing calculator. In addition, all math courses have a prerequisite of reading proficiency.
