RST-2490 Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Care 3 Credits Designed to prepare students with theoretical understanding of fetal cardiopulmonary development, disease states specific to neonatal and pediatric patients, as well as implementation of physical assessment and adaptation of respiratory care modalities to meet the needs of these unique groups of critically ill patients. Preparation for student entry into the neonatal/pediatric critical care clinical rotation. Open to second-year respiratory therapy students. Prerequisite(s): RST-1730 with grade of C or higher; RST-2500 and RST-2530 concurrent. 2 lecture/3 lab hours. Note: A grade of C or higher must be maintained in all prerequisites, program courses, and required science courses. (Offered fall only.)
