SGT-2050 Surgical Procedures II 3 Credits SGT-2050 is the intermediate level of the Surgical Procedure series of classes within the Surgical Technology Program at Prince George’s Community College. This course focuses on advanced surgical procedures such as obstetrics and gynecological procedures, ophthalmic, otorhinolaryngology, plastic and reconstructive, and oral maxillofacial. This course may include other specialties as deemed necessary by the instructor. In addition to new concepts in surgical intervention, more complicated types of instrumentation are introduced. Students will continue to learn to anticipate surgeon’s needs through the process of association and the identification of applied surgical patterns. Prerequisite(s): SGT-2010 with a grade of C or higher; SGT-2100 concurrent; BIO-2010 completed or concurrent. 2 lecture/3 lab hours. Note: A grade of C or higher must be maintained in all prerequisites, program courses, and required science courses. (Offered fall only.)
