A study of the relationship between police and the community with recommendations for ways of working together to reduce crime. Emphasis is placed on policing in a culturally diverse society.

Prerequisite(s): EGL-1010S for students not eligible for EGL-1010. No prerequisite or corequisite for students eligible for EGL-1010.

Describe the interactive and collaborative roles of police and the community.
Evaluate the problem-solving approach to policing and strategies for proper enforcement.
Explain the interactions between police and various culturally diverse groups, the media and other entities.
