INT-2761 Linux Administration



Credits: 3
This course develops the knowledge and skills required for a Linux Administrator. Students complete skill-based labs related to server/desktop/cloud configuration, operation, and administration. It also covers deployment to include scripting, container and automation concepts. Students gain experience using troubleshooting, monitoring and performance tools. Additionally, students configure firewalls and command line tools for administration. Students will have to study beyond this course to adequately prepare for the CompTIA Linux+ XK0-005 exam. May also be taken as continuing education course TEC-482 Linux Administration.

Prerequisite(s): INT-1450  or INT-1550

  1. Identify the core components of the Linux operating system, boot process, and file system structure.
  2. Configure network connections and firewalls.
  3. Compare and contrast cloud and container concepts.
  4. Manage users, groups, files and storage.
  5. Configure permissions and resource access.

  7. Apply system management commands and tools.
  8. Create shell scripts for automation.
  9. Troubleshoot networking resources and devices.
