CJT-2900 Capstone Seminar in Criminal Justice

Credits: 3
This course is the culmination of the criminal justice student’s academic experience. It serves to synthesize the knowledge gained from courses taken within the criminal justice curriculum and better prepare the graduate to continue on to upper-level studies in the discipline, or for entry-level career positions in the criminal justice field. Among other requirements, the student will develop and prepare an individual research project that will be presented to the class.

Prerequisite(s): CJT-1510, CJT-1520, CJT-1530, CJT-2510, CJT-2530, CJT-2540, CJT-2580, CJT-2800 or permission of department; 45 credits and 2.0 GPA

Capstone Course: This is a capstone course.

Course Outcomes

Apply methodological frameworks of major criminological theories to issues, problem areas and policies.
Evaluate a position regarding an issue, problem area or policy within criminal justice or a related field.
Analyze issues, problem areas and policies that effect law enforcement, corrections and judicial systems.
Prepare research project on an issue, problem area or policy within criminal justice or a related field using current technologies.
