INT-2140 Problem Solving with Spreadsheets

Problem Solving with Spreadsheets is a comprehensive course using electronic spreadsheet software with an emphasis is on managing workbook options and settings as well as creating advanced formulas, macros, charts, and tables.  Using Microsoft Excel, students solve problems and analyze financial and other data.  In addition, students effectively present data from spreadsheets in charts. This course helps prepare students for Microsoft Office Specialist certification exams.
Prerequisite(s): INT-1010 with grade of C or higher.
2 class/2 lab hours.
Course Outcomes
1. Construct a variety of financial, statistical, logical, and other spreadsheet formulas and functions to solve problems

2.  Format spreadsheets for ease of reading and effective presentation of data

3.  Create multi-spreadsheet workbooks with formulas and functions

4.  Use advanced tools such as Excel tables, solver, and pivot tables

5.  Create a chart to display data

6.  Improve spreadsheet functionality through tools such as validation, protection, and macros
