The study of aural skills, including sight singing of standard music scores with solfeggio, and dictation of harmonic, melodic, and rhythmic materials.

Prerequisite(s): Placement exam.
2 lab hours.
Course Outcomes

Identify the principles of musical composition, including meter, key, and texture, through listening and score reading.
Sing at sight melodies of intermediate difficulty, with solfeggio.
Sing simple intervals, major and three forms of minor scales with solfeggio.
Aurally identify and notate simple intervals; major and three forms of minor scales; melodic phrases; harmonic progressions; and rhythmic patterns.
