NUR-2032 Physiological Integrity III Credits 3 Focuses in depth on the nursing care for clients and families experiencing serious threats to physiological integrity. Students synthesize and integrate knowledge, skills, and abilities to evaluate and modify a plan of care; independently plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of safe, effective care; facilitate optimal physiological functioning to maximize health outcomes. Clinical experiences will be provided in a variety of specialized acute care settings. Prerequisite(s): NUR-2010 , NUR-2020 . Corequisite(s): NUR-2031 , NUR-2040 . 1.5 lecture/1.5 lab/9 clinical (for 5 weeks) hours. Course Outcomes
- Evaluate nursing management of clients experiencing complex, life threatening alterations in physiological integrity in acute care settings.
- Formulate nursing interventions considering principles of client safety, health promotion and maintenance for clients with neurologic disorders.
- Formulate nursing interventions considering principles of client safety, health promotion and maintenance for clients with cardiovascular disorders.
- Formulate nursing interventions considering principles of client safety, health promotion and maintenance for clients with respiratory disorders.
- Establish priorities utilizing the nursing process to manage care of clients with acute multisystem disorders.
- Analyze the nurse’s role in management of clients experiencing environmental emergencies and in disaster situations.
