PAR-2540 Contracts

A survey of the law of contracts. Emphasis is placed on the elements of a contract, contract defenses, and remedies. Practice in drafting contracts is included.
Prerequisite(s): Reading Readiness .
Course Outcomes
 

  1. Describe the elements of a valid contract and the steps involved in the process of contract formation.
  2. Evaluate the doctrines of freedom of contract, bargains for consideration, and fundamental fairness.
  3. Compare and contrast the provisions of the common law with those contained in the Uniform Commercial Code.
  4. Analyze scenarios and cases for contract validity, defenses, adequate performance and payment of damages and other remedies.
