PAR-2540 Contracts Credits 3 A survey of the law of contracts. Emphasis is placed on the elements of a contract, contract defenses, and remedies. Practice in drafting contracts is included. Prerequisite(s): Reading Readiness . Course Outcomes
- Describe the elements of a valid contract and the steps involved in the process of contract formation.
- Evaluate the doctrines of freedom of contract, bargains for consideration, and fundamental fairness.
- Compare and contrast the provisions of the common law with those contained in the Uniform Commercial Code.
- Analyze scenarios and cases for contract validity, defenses, adequate performance and payment of damages and other remedies.
