PMD-2040 Preparation for the Paramedic Licensing Exam

Provides students with a comprehensive review and syntheses of the knowledge base of the paramedic. Integration and application of assessment, information-gathering skills, and decision-making will be employed through computer-assisted and scenario-based exercises. Includes multiple choice review examinations, advanced practical skills reviews, and mock practical exams.
Prerequisite(s): PMD-1030, PMD-2010, PMD-2030, and PMD-1100
Corequisite(s): PMD-2020 and PMD-2200

Course Outcomes
  1. Perform safe and accurate assessment and management of a respiratory emergency, as prescribed in the current paramedic national education standards.
  2. Perform safe and accurate vascular access infusion therapies, as prescribed in the current paramedic national education standards.
  3. Perform safe and accurate dosage calculation, medication withdrawal and administration, as prescribed in the current paramedic national education standards.
  4. Perform safe and accurate assessment and management of a cardiac emergency in the static and dynamic settings, as prescribed in the current paramedic national education standards.
  5. Perform safe and accurate methods of basic life support, as prescribed in the current paramedic national education standards.
  6. Perform safe and accurate assessment and management of a trauma patient, as prescribed in the current paramedic national education standards.
  7. Perform safe and accurate verbal assessment and treatment of a patient, as prescribed in the current paramedic national education standards.
