Philosophic ideas in creative writings from Shakespeare to Sartre and from Job to Tolstoy.
Prerequisite(s): EGL-1010 (EGL-1020 recommended) or PHL-1010, PHL-1090 or PHL-1330, or permission of instructor.

Course Outcomes
  1. Identify philosophical themes in works of literature.
  2. Analyze philosophical themes in works of literature.
  3. Evaluate competing philosophical interpretations of philosophical claims in works of literature.
  4. Apply philosophical themes in works of literature to contemporary issues in a rationally justifiable way.
