PSY-2010 Personality and Adjustment Credits 3 This course examines theories and development of personality, mental hygiene, growth and the choices we make as we adjust to our world. This course introduces psychological principles that contribute to a well-adjusted personality, and considers the effects of stress and coping with the problems of everyday life. Prerequisite(s): PSY-1010 Course Outcomes
- Apply theories and concepts of personality development.
- Examine theories of personality development as they relate to mental health across the life span.
- Distinguish the differences between adaptive behaviors and maladaptive in a cultural context.
- Apply effective coping strategies for adjusting to stress confronted in everyday life.
- Recognize effective strategies that promote and challenge mental health and personal growth across the life span.
- Apply information literacy skills to produce individual/group projects and presentations relevant to personality and adjustment concepts.
