RAD-2580 Image Production and Imaging Equipment II Credits 3 Continuation of RAD-1500, exploring radiographic imaging systems in greater depth to include digital radiography. Quality control of radiographic equipment and analysis of common equipment malfunctions are expanded upon. Image acquisition and processing of digital radiography systems are included. Students will identify types of digital radiographic systems, compare/contrast components of digital image processing, differentiate between exposure factors and post-processing techniques. In addition, students will compare/contrast factors that control or influence the digital radiographic image formation, evaluate radiographic images using quality control measure/parameters, and describe the ability for reduced patient exposure in imaging procedures. Prerequisite(s): RAD-1500, RAD-1420. Course Outcomes 1. Identify the types of digital radiographic imaging systems
2. Compare/contrast the components of digital image processing
3. Differentiate between exposure factors and post-processing techniques
4. Compare/contrast the factors that control or influence the properties of digital radiographic image formation
5. Evaluate radiographic images using quality control measures/parameters
6. Describe the ability for reduced patient exposure in imaging procedures
