RST-1600 Principles of Ventilatory Diseases Credits 3 Fundamental concepts of pulmonary pathophysiology and related cardiopulmonary disorders. Designed to present the theoretical principles associated with the pathophysiology of cardiopulmonary disease entities, this course will cover obstructive and restrictive lung diseases with emphasis on assessment, evaluation, treatment, and management protocols for the respiratory care practitioner. Prerequisite(s): RST-1531 and RST-1570 with grade of C or higher. Corequisite(s): RST-1631 Course Outcomes

- Differentiate between obstructive and restrictive pulmonary disease.
- Identify the etiology of specific cardiopulmonary diseases.
