SPN-2040 Advanced Conversation Credits 3 SPN 2040 focuses on advanced practice for students who wish to develop fluency and confidence speaking Spanish. Students explore a variety of cultural topics in the Spanish-speaking world and express and support their opinions on these topics. Advanced grammar structures such as subjunctive and compound tenses are practiced, both verbally and in writing. NOTE: Students who have not taken SPN-2010 and who want to enroll in SPN-2040 will need to contact the Academic Coordinator of Foreign Languages to determine eligibility for this course. Prerequisite(s): SPN-2010 or permission from the Academic Coordinator of Foreign Languages. Spanish courses meet for 3 class hours and 1 additional lab hour per week or equivalent. Course Outcomes
- Communicate in spoken Spanish in all tenses using expressions and vocabulary related to culture and civilization.
- Read intermediate Spanish with a special focus on cultural topics in all tenses for comprehension.
- Express an opinion in Spanish.
- Support an opinion in Spanish.
- Debate issues and cultural topics of the Spanish-speaking world.
