NUM-2100 Introduction to Clinical Nuclear Medicine Credits 1 This course is an extension of previous coursework that introduces the student to patient care and monitoring in the nuclear medicine department. Through a variety of competency-based learning modules, students become competent in venipuncture, ECG operation, utilizing medical terminology used in nuclear medicine and health care, and responding to medical emergencies that may arise in the nuclear medicine department. Prerequisite(s): RAD-1510 Course Outcomes
- Summarize appropriate responses to emergencies in the clinical setting.
- Perform various venipuncture techniques utilizing aseptic technique.
- Demonstrate ECG electrode placement and ECG operation.
- Recognize abnormal, normal, and normal-variant cardiac rhythms on ECG.
