THE-2801 Special Topics


Credits 3
This course provides students studying Theatre Performance an examination of special topics in the field of The Performing Arts and Entertainment Technology with their relevance across disciplinary perspectives. The issues to be addressed in each colloquium will vary from semester to semester. This course should be taken in the student’s final semester. This course consists of a lecture component (2 hours each week) and a laboratory session (2 hours each week).
Prerequisite(s): Either THE-1301 THE-1401 THE-1501 , DAN 1020 or 1021, or DAN 1001 or 1002 completed with a C or higher, or concurrent enrollment in THE-1301 , THE-1401 , THE-1501 , DAN 1020 or 1021, or DAN 1001 or 1002, or with permission of the Department of Humanities.

  1. Describe the function of the special topic in Performing Arts and Entertainment Technology.
  2. Analyze the special topic for historical, social, and cultural context.
  3. Analyze the special topic for its application in Performing Arts and Entertainment Technology.
  4. Explain the fundamental techniques of advanced acting methods.
  5. Perform a position within a Performing Arts and Entertainment Technology Event incorporating the special topic.
  6. Describe a proactive application of Performing Arts or Entertainment Technology regarding a positive social change.
