THE-2501 Acting II

THE 2501 provides a continued reinforcement to the essential techniques required of acting begun in THE 1501 with emphasis on the study of body and voice techniques, self-awareness, and creativity for a successful execution of performance. Additionally, students concentrate on analyzing the text and acting a role from Shakespeare. Also, students study rehearsal techniques as well as auditioning for work in professional theatre.  
Prerequisite(s): THE 1501 completed with a C or higher or with permission of the Department of Humanities.
Course Outcomes
 

  1. Execute of the audition process for professional theatre.
  2. Execute the rehearsal process for professional theatre.
  3. Perform a character analysis from a contemporary play and a Shakespeare play.
  4. Use vocal techniques in a scene performance.
  5. Use movement techniques in a scene performance.
  6. Analyze text from a play of Shakespeare.
  7. Perform a role from Shakespeare for an audience.
  8. Evaluate professional actors’ performances.
