TED-2061 Field Experience for Educational Psychology Credits 1 In this course students observe a teacher(s) in a school at the level at which they want to be certified. Students apply the theories and concepts learned in PSY-2060 Educational Psychology to the process of teaching and learning. Students observe 15 hours at the school. In addition to the time spent at the school, students meet on campus throughout the semester. Prerequisite(s): PSY-2060 completed or concurrent. Formerly EDU-2350. Course Outcomes
- Complete a portfolio that shows and explains how cognitive development impacts instruction, learning and assessment.
- Relate lesson planning and instructional teaching methods to cognitive and developmental theories.
- Understand, articulate, and exemplify principles of professional practice for educators.
- Describe the relationship between behavior, learning, and motivation.
- Achieve satisfactory or superior ratings from their mentor teachers on dimensions of professionalism, communication skills, flexibility, and ethics.
- Describe the impact multicultural concepts have on teaching and learning.
