ART-2570 Lettering Typography and Layout Credits 3 Designed to deepen the student’s understanding of fundamental publication and presentation design. The overall goal of the course is to expand the student’s ability to explore creative solutions for text based visual information. Prerequisite(s): ART-1620 6 studio hours. (Not offered summer.)
Course Outcomes
- Apply advanced digital techniques and the principles of design to publication layouts.
- Combine graphic elements into page layouts in print media, on-screen media, and presentation media.
- Identify output production options with regard to color fidelity management, resolution, and media format.
- Identify the letterform anatomy, typeface classifications, notable type designers, and significant historical changes in type and printing.
- Assemble a professional quality portfolio of publication projects in digital form and hard copy.
