ART-2590 Watercolor II

Watercolor II builds on concepts and painting techniques introduced in Watercolor I.  Students work with a wider range of brush handling and painting techniques specific to the medium. Students have the opportunity to use large format paper extensively. Students are also encouraged to work more independently and incorporate content, relevant to them personally, into the original watercolor paintings they create. Prerequisite:  ART-1590  .  6 studio hours
6 studio hours.
Course Outcomes
 

  1. Use an expanded vocabulary of art concepts and painting materials and techniques, specific to watercolor painting.
  2. Demonstrate expanded skills in brush handling, watercolor painting techniques, large format compositions, and the use of different types of watercolor materials.
  3. Create original watercolor paintings with emphasis on developing content relevant to the individual artist.
  4. Analyze in depth, watercolor paintings focusing on subject, form, technique, and content.
