EGL-2230 Children’s Literature

A study of various genres in children’s literature with focus on analysis of the content and quality of works from nursery level through the elementary grades. 
Prerequisite(s): EGL-1020 , EGL-1100 , EGL-1320 , or EGL-1340 .
(Not offered summer.)

Course Outcomes
  1. Identify a wide variety of children’s books from the different genres.
  2. Explain the important literary criteria for evaluating a children’s book.
  3. Identify and explain literary terms.
  4. Write analytically about aspects of children’s books (including genre, illustration, style, and content) with appropriate documentation.
