INT-1450 CCNA I - Introduction to Networking Credits 4 First of a three-course sequence preparing students for Cisco CCNA certification. The course includes OSI and TCP/IP models; Ethernet concepts and operation; TCP and UDP protocols and ports; network design using IPv4 and IPv6 subnets; router and switch configuration and network security. This course charges an additional fee. Prerequisite(s): INT 1550 completed or concurrent Corequisite(s): INT 1550 completed or concurrent 3 class/2 lab hours. (Not offered summer.)
Course Outcomes
- Configure workstations with appropriate IP addresses, subnet masks, and gateways.
- Configure a router with appropriate IP addresses and subnet masks.
- Configure routers and switches with hostnames, passwords, and remote access capability.
- Design and implement a system of network addresses and subnets for a given set of network requirements.
- Use common network utilities to verify the operation of a small network.
