COM-1130 Interviewing Credits 3 Credits Principles and procedures of interviewing, focusing on different types of interviews, their structures, and the roles of the interviewer and interviewee. Prerequisite(s): Reading and oral proficiencies or ESL-0106 (formerly ESL-1060) with a grade of C or higher. Formerly (Formerly SPH-1130 . Students may not receive credit for both SPH-1130 and COM-1130.) (Not offered summer.)
Course Outcomes
- Recognize the different types and structures of interviews, including the interview context and environment within different disciplines
- Define the roles and expectations of both interviewer and interviewee for competency
- Evaluate the communication skills of an interviewer and interviewee
- Recognize ethical behavior in both interviewer and interviewee before, during, and after interviews
- Create a professional resume
- Apply basic theory and practices of interviewing
