HLE-2450 Public Health Preparedness Credits 3 Equivalent Hours 3 This course provides an overview of the foundations of public health preparedness. Course content includes: 1) Basic principles of public health preparedness; 2) public health capabilities; and 3) practice considerations in public health preparedness. Course Outcomes
- Define the foundations of public health preparedness to include current definitions, threats and hazards, frameworks and infrastructure, and emergency management.
- Discuss basic principles of public health preparedness to include regulations and law, epidemiology and disease outbreak, and preparedness planning.
- Compare/contrast the responsibilities, functions and tasks associated with public health preparedness capabilities.
- Demonstrate effective public health preparedness, response and recovery at the state and local levels.
