This course provides an overview of the foundations of public health preparedness. Course content includes: 1) Basic principles of public health preparedness; 2) public health capabilities; and 3) practice considerations in public health preparedness.
Course Outcomes

Define the foundations of public health preparedness to include current definitions, threats and hazards, frameworks and infrastructure, and emergency management.
Discuss basic principles of public health preparedness to include regulations and law, epidemiology and disease outbreak, and preparedness planning.
Compare/contrast the responsibilities, functions and tasks associated with public health preparedness capabilities.
Demonstrate effective public health preparedness, response and recovery at the state and local levels.
