The Introduction to Cloud+ course maps to the Computing Technology Industry Association’s (CompTIA) Cloud+ Certification exam, which validates the skills needed to maintain and optimize cloud infrastructure services. The course provides students the knowledge and skills required to understand standard cloud methodologies; to implement, maintain, and deliver cloud technologies (e.g., network, storage, and virtualization technologies); and to understand aspects of Information Technology (IT) security, and the use of industry best practices related to cloud implementations. Cloud+ is a good introductory course for students who want to explore cloud computing, as well as, those who feel they need extra preparation for Advanced Virtualization courses like VMware, Citrix, and Amazon Web Service (AWS).
Prerequisite(s): INT-1460 with grade of C or higher.
Corequisite(s): INT-1460 with grade of C or higher.
Course Outcomes

Explain common hardware resources and features used to enable virtual environments, and explain the benefits of virtualization in a cloud environment.
Install, configure and manage virtual machines and devices.
Describe storage configuration concepts (RAIDS), and execute storage provisioning.
Given a scenario, implement and use proper resource monitoring techniques, appropriately allocate physical (host) resources virtual (guest) resources and tools for remote access.
Describe storage security concepts (Zoning), and different encryption technologies and methods.
Given a scenario, diagnose, remediate and optimize physical host performance, and implement appropriate testing techniques when deploying cloud services.
Compare and contrast disaster recovery methods and concepts and describe solutions to meet availability requirements.
