HLE-2550 Public Health Advocacy and Leadership in Action Credits 3 Equivalent Hours 3 This course focuses on advocacy in advancing public health programs and leadership development. Students will learn to gather evidence, develop advocacy messages and strategies, and implement and evaluate advocacy efforts. Leadership development will focus on personal integrity and respect, leadership models, personal leadership styles and health policy development. Prerequisite(s): HLE 2420 with a grade of C or higher Corequisite(s): HLE 2420 with a grade of C or higher Course Outcomes
- Discuss levels of advocacy in health education promotion.
- Develop advocacy messages and strategies in health care promotion.
- Evaluate advocacy efforts in health care promotion.
