ART-2650 Animation and Multimedia I Credits 3 Course content focuses on two-dimensional animation and multimedia, with an emphasis on creativity, originality, and experimentation. Various software packages will be utilized to create animated sequences complete with sound and special effects. Students will be expected to have an aptitude for learning a variety of software packages. Prerequisite(s): ART-1570 . 6 studio hours. (Not offered summer.)
Course Outcomes
- Use animation software and techniques.
- Use non-linear audio/video production software to capture, edit, and manipulate A/V content.
- Create web content, animation, and motion graphics for screen and devices.
- Evaluate animation and web content with the elements of art, principles of design, and vocabulary of the discipline.
- Develop storyboards, camera shots, narrative arc, and flowcharts.
- Apply file management and data storage options including import, export, publishing optimization, and compression.
- Assemble still images, audio/video, and animated content for an entry-level portfolio or exhibition.
