RAD-1530 Clinical Radiography I


Credits 2
First course in the clinical education component of the program.  Supervised, competency-based clinical education with emphasis on application of comprehensive didactic knowledge in clinical practice. Emphasis on radiographic procedures of the upper extremity and shoulder girdle, lower extremity, thorax and abdomen.
Prerequisite(s): MAT-1250  , EGL-1010  , BIO-2050  , and BIO-2060  
2 days/8 hours/8 weeks.
(Offered fall only.)

Course Outcomes
1. Assist with radiographic examinations of the chest and abdomen.

2. Discuss proper use of radiographic equipment and accessories.

3. Critique radiographic images for proper positioning.

4. Communicate effectively, using proper medical terminology when necessary.

5. Identify proper radiation protection methods - ALARA.

6. Display a professional demeanor.
